Youth Action and Wellbeing Grants

The Youth Action and Wellbeing Grants support youth-led groups and grassroots campaigns with lived experience of injustice, providing resources to drive social change while prioritising care, sustainability, and community wellbeing. Funding decisions are made through a participatory grantmaking model, led by an independent panel of 8 young people.

In 2025, the second round of  grantees rolled out their activities with FYA’s ongoing support. From the launch of Yung Prodigy’s Freedom on the Line campaign and Rainbow Cumberland’s Unearthed Community Pride event, we’ve been on the ground supporting the incredible work being done by these youth-led campaigns.

In December 2025, another round of grants were distributed to 7 organisations for initiatives which include First Nations climate resources in language, and youth-led campaigns and projects for public housing, sexual assault legal support, justice reinvestment, anti-racism, regional mental health resourcing and BDS.

Thanks to the support of FYA and their Youth Action and Wellbeing grants, we’ve been able to continue commissioning truth-telling projects, truth telling stories and truth telling content. The application process was the most supportive i’ve ever experienced, and I’ve written a lot of grant applications this year. What’s really stood out though is how FYA have continued to back us, even outside the grant.”
